Smashed Driving as a Social Issue Essay How much longer will we be compelled to bear the agony and abominations because of the recklessness of alcoholic driving? Tanked driving has been an issue in the United States since the presentation of cars; in any case, it didn't turn into a significant social issue until the 1980s. Around then the political climate characterized wrongdoing as far as close to home decision and individual duty. Smashed driving was characterized as an issue situated inside people. Smashed driving is unlawful in each state. It isn't just illicit, yet risky to work a car on the off chance that you are affected by liquor. At the point when an individual beverages, the liquor is retained into the circulation system and different tests have been intended to quantify the degree of liquor in a people blood. In many states, if an individual has a blood liquor level more noteworthy than .10%, that individual is attempted to be excessively inebriated to securely work a car. Driving affected by liquor is viewed as the countries most every now and again carried out savage wrongdoing, and during the 1980s the open upheld a more extensive scope of non-criminal countermeasures, just as stricter lawful measures, to oversee DUIs. This development against alcoholic driving was very much reflected in the administrative field. Somewhere in the range of 1981 and 1987 around 934 new laws managing alcoholic driving were passed by state assemblies. Lawful estimates center around hindering tipsy drivers by giving stricter laws and discipline. Non-criminal countermeasures are worried about change and instruction and incorporate treatment programs and teaching residents about the threats of disabled driving. To forestall alcoholic driving, a blend of stricter laws with brutal disciplines and non-criminal countermeasures must be executed. Legitimate measures are said to ensure residents through discouragement. Prevention is characterized as demoralizing a specific conduct. There are two kinds of prevention: individual or explicit discouragement, and general discouragement. Individual or explicit prevention looks to dissuade the guilty party from re-irritating. General prevention looks to stop the general population from criminal conduct through the discipline of wrongdoers. Prevention depends on the apparent sureness, seriousness, and celerity of recognition and assent (Vingilis 645). Individuals who bolster legitimate measures are calling for harsher laws and harder disciplines. A portion of the proposed measures are: 1. Anybody sentenced for alcoholic driving will be required to pay huge fines (beginning at $5,000 for a first offense). 2. Anybody indicted for alcoholic driving will be required to invest probably some energy in prison or jail. 3. Standards on Compliance and Reporting Costs †MyAssignmenthelp.com

Question: Discuss about the Standards on Compliance and Reporting Costs. Answer: Introduction: In the AASB 136 in Para 9 it states, that an entity is required to assess the indications related to impairment of assets. The assessment is conducted by the entity at the end of each accounting period (Oulasvirta 2014, pp.272-285). If the indication of the impairment of assets exists then the entity is required to calculate the recoverable amount of the assets. The definition of impairment is provided in the Para 6 of the AASB 136. The assets that have carrying amount less than the market value in that case the assets is impaired and the impairment loss is recorded in the income statement. The Para 12 -14 of the AASB 136 provides indication related to the impairment of assets. There are certain situations that are described under the mentioned Para in which the assets impairment can be regarded as necessary (Du et al. 2017, pp.557-605). The indication that the impairment of assets exists are provided in the two major headings of information: Internal and External; External Sources of Information includes the following: The external source of information that indicates the existence of impairment of assets are given below: There has been a decline in the market value of the assets due to normal usage and the passage of time; There is sudden change in the market, technological, economic or legal environment that has adversely affected the assets of the entity. There has been increase in the return on investment and the market rate of interest that have resulted in decline in the recoverable value of the assets. The carrying amount of the asset is lower than the market capitalisation of net assets. Internal Sources of Information includes the following: It is evident that there is damage or obsolesce of assets; The manner of using assets have changed significantly; The AASB 136 states that an assets is impaired if the carrying value of the assets is less than the recoverable amount of the assets. The recent developments in the external environment of Myer business indicate that there is an evidence of impairment of assets. The company has changed its strategy to take on the online business of Amazon (Christensen et al. 2016, pp.397-435). In the altered strategy, the company has developed new store format and made changes in the outlet. The company has made announcement related to closure of store, new stores are terminated and the space is optimised. The above discussion states that this are the evidence of impairment of assets. Processes for determining asset impairments The amortisation is not applicable to goodwill and intangible assets that do not have definite useful life. In this case, the assets are tested annually to determine the impairment of assets. The company conducts impairment testing of noncurrent assets when there is an indication that the amount recoverable from the assets is lower than the carrying value of the assets (Wang 2014, pp.955-992). The loss of impairment should be recognised and in order to do that the assets should be grouped together. In case of Myer, the goodwill that are arising on the acquisition of the business cannot be identified with the separate cash generating units. Therefore, in this case goodwill is allocated to the entire business. There are no definite life periods for the brand name of the company and is currently is valued $402.8 million as on 2015 (Anon 2017). The intangible assets that have indefinite life is required to be tested for impairment on annual basis. The company has adopted the process of discounted cash flow model in order to determine the recoverable amount of assets. In this model, the projected cash flow of the five year is used to ascertain the recoverable amount (Albu et al. 2014, pp.489-510). The company by using the terminal growth rate extrapolate the cash flow that is beyond the five-year period. There are certain assumptions that are made in calculating the projected cash flow: The gross profit margin of the company is 39.5%; The pre-tax discount rate is taken as 14.4%; The terminal growth rate is taken as 2.5%; ; The same procedure and assumptions are used to calculate the carrying value of the stores. In addition to this, the company also makes assessment whether there is any indication that the financial assets of the company are impaired. If there is a prolonged decline in the value of equity below the cost then an impairment loss in the value of equity share is recognised. Therefore, the procedure that have been followed by the Myers for determining the impairment of assets have been discussed. Information needed to determine asset impairments The method that have been applied for determining the impairment amount ascertains the information need and the details that are required. The Para 30 of the AASB 136 provides that for value in use of the assets the information is required to determine the liquidity condition of the assets (Christensen et al. 2015, pp.397-435). In determining the amount of impairment, the estimated cash flow is required to be calculated. The flowing informations are required to determine the impairment of assets: The economic information is necessary to make the assumption; In order to justify the period of budget the information is required to be obtained; In order to determine the average growth rate of the company the information should be obtained; In order to determine the growth rate of the industry the information is required to be obtained; The information pertaining to the market in which the business operates should be obtained. Flexibility management has in the determination of asset impairments The flexibility in the management refers to the ability of the manager to use judgment in making estimations. The Para 24 of the AASB 136 provides the manner in which the management measures the amount that is recoverable from the intangible assets is an example of flexibility that is used by the management. The Para 30 of the AASB 136 provides that in calculating the value in use the management is required to calculate the future cash flow (Miller and Power 2013, pp.557-605). In calculating the future cash flow, the management has enough flexibility to make appropriate assumptions. The estimated future cash flow is required to be calculated based on the management best assessment of the economic condition that is expected in the future period. Therefore, it can be seen that the management has sufficient flexibility in determining the impairment of assets. Referencing Albu, C.N., Albu, N. and Alexander, D., 2014. Memorandum of the Case of the Central Park Children’s Zoo free essay sample

First of all, getting to know more about the new major donors before reaching agreements is important. Basically, some major donors donate a gift to a nonprofit because they want the nonprofit to use the money to what and how they promise and probably may not get involved in making plans. However, some donors are hands-on donors. If a nonprofit comes into contact with hands-on donors, they may want more from the nonprofits. They will try to make a plan which they think is good for the nonprofit or partially good for them, and get involved more than they should. Take Henry and Edith Everett, who were potential major donors of Central Park Children’s Zoo, as an example. Henry Everett visited other children’s zoos and gave suggestions on the zoo’s design and operating, and the Everetts cared so much about the design of the entry gate and their naming on it. We will write a custom essay sample on Memorandum of the Case of the Central Park Children’s Zoo or any similar topic specifically for you Do Not WasteYour Time HIRE WRITER Only 13.90 / page It may be good to have a hands-on donor because he or she may have some new ideas to bring in and help the nonprofit as a volunteer. However, those donors may also have more say or controls in the nonprofit, which may impact the regular operation or decision making of the nonprofit. As a result, it is important to know more about the major donors’ philanthropic history, especially when the donors are new for the nonprofit. If the nonprofit thinks that they can not have a good relationship with the donors, they should not make an agreement to receive the gift. For example, if the donors are hands-on donors, and the nonprofit does not want the donors participate so much on management, they may reject the donation. If the donors’ principles or behaviors mismatch with the nonprofits, the nonprofits should not accept the gift even though it is a large one. The second suggestion is dealing with the major gift and the relationship with major donors wisely. The Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS), which was the organization that was in charge of rebuilding the Children’s Park, did both good and bad jobs on handling the Everetts’ gift. The president and the vice president of WCS, William Conway and Jennifer Herring, warned the Everetts that the final form of acknowledgement would depend on different related parties that had a say in the plan. It is beneficial not to firmly promise the donors on something undecided or can not be guaranteed. However, the WCS could do more on explaining the process and the result of every process of the plan to the Everett. The WCS did not need the Everetts to attend the meetings of the plans; they even did not tell them more details on the meetings. When the Everett showed impatience of the long-time process of the plan and the repeated changes to the zoo’s design, the WCS should comfort them and explain the reasons for them. It seems the WCS did not care the major donors carefully enough. If the WCS had communicated more with the Everetts, their relationship would not end. Even though a nonprofit wants to withdraw a major gift, it is significant to keep the relationship with the major donor. The donor may still donate for other programs in the future, or they may ask someone else to give gifts to the nonprofits that he or she has a good relationship with or a good impression on. In addition, having a good relationship with the related parties of the plan is highly needed and is as important as with major donors. Related parties here include important previous donors, municipal agencies, and various community stakeholders and philanthropic community. Those relationships involve the reputation of the nonprofit, the cooperation between the nonprofit and the parties right now and in the future, the results of the nonprofits’ plans and programs, etc. The WCS did a good job on respecting the previous donor of the zoo. They insisted on crafting the names of the funders on the entry gate no matter how many times the design plan changed. Also, philanthropic context is not the same as the one in business and government. It focuses on using donors’ gift to benefit the target customers, not for the donors’ themselves or the nonprofit itself. It is hard but necessary to balance the relationship with all the parties that get involved. To sum up, in order to handle the $5 million potential donation with such a complicated philanthropic environment, I recommend withdrawing the major donation carefully. ABC Nonprofit should be aware of the donor’s background, should manage the major gift wisely, and should have and keep a good relationship with all parties.

How does Charlotte Bront make the scene in the red room very frightening for Jane Essays

How does Charlotte Bront make the scene in the red room very frightening for Jane Essays How does Charlotte Bront make the scene in the red room very frightening for Jane Paper How does Charlotte Bront make the scene in the red room very frightening for Jane Paper Essay Topic: Literature Jane Eyres parents died when she was very young and she was sent to live with her aunt Mrs Reed and her children at Gateshead Hall. Mrs Reed and her children treated Jane very cruelly and she was very unhappy. In chapters one and two, Charlotte Bronte describes Janes misery and fear in much detail for example, He bullied me and punished me; not two or three times in the week, nor once or twice in the day, but continually: every nerve I had feared him, and every morsel of flesh on my bones shrank when he came near, This shows how terrified Jane was of John, Mrs Reeds son, this quote also makes you feel sorry for Jane. There are many occasions mentioned in the text in which Mrs Reed and her children bully Jane, For example, before Jane was sent to the red room, John saw Jane reading books and started insulting Jane by saying You have no business to take our books; you are a dependant, mamma says; you have no money; your father left you none; you ought to beg. John then told Jane to stand by the door and he threw a book at her head, causing her much pain and causing her head to bleed. Then Charlotte Bronte describes Janes feelings towards what had happened by saying My terror had passed its climax; other feelings succeeded this shows how Jane was so upset, she was beyond terror and fear. Then, as if John had gone too far, Jane just spoke her feelings out by saying wicked and cruel boy you are like a murderer- you are like a slave driver- you are like the Roman emperors. Usually Jane wouldnt say anything back to John because she had become accustomed to John Reeds abuse, this shows that John does it so often, Jane is used to it. John then hurt Jane again. Eliza and Georgina, Johns sisters, run to get Mrs Reed, and when she found out what had happened she said take her away to the red-room and lock her in there. This shows again how cruel the family are to Jane. Mrs Reed didnt even hear Janes side of the story and put her in the red room as a punishment straight away. Just before Jane was put in the red room, one of the servants tries to scare Jane by saying God will punish her; he will strike her dead in the midst of her tantrums, and then where would she go? this builds up even more fear in Jane. As soon as Jane enters the red room Charlotte Bronte describes the room really well using broken up sentences which adds to the tension. You get the feeling that the room is cold and isolated- The red-room was a spare chamber, very seldom slept in: I might say never this makes the room seem very lonely. She also describes the room as being chill, because it seldom had a fire this makes it feel cold, depressing and neglected. Even the colour of the room makes it seem frightening and miserable because red is associated with blood and death. Jane tells us that her uncle Mr Reed died in the red room: Mr Reed had been dead nine years: it was in this chamber he breathed last; here he lay in state; hence his coffin was borne by the undertakers men; and, since that day a sense of dreary concentration had guarded it from frequent intrusion. Because Jane is so young, knowing this would frighten her even more. Jane must of felt very small in that room- the bed rose before me and there was a high dark wardrobe it seems like all the furniture is towering above her and that everything is so much bigger than her. After finding the door was locked, Jane went across to the mirror and she thinks she sees a strange figure- and the strange little figure there gazing at me with a white face and arms speckling in the gloom, and glittering eyes of fear moving, where all else was still, had the effect of a real spirit; I thought it like one of the tiny phantoms, half fairy, half imp Jane might be thinking that shes seeing the spirit of her dead uncle at this point. It must be really frightening for a child to be locked up in a room at such a young age, so Jane started to imagine things. Although Jane is really frightened, she is really angry about the injustice of her punishment. She feels annoyed that because Mrs Reeds children are much more misbehaved than her and they do not get harsh punishments. Jane describes Eliza as headstrong and selfish, and Georgina as having a spoiled temper, a very acrid spite, a captious and insolent carriage and was universally indulged this shows how Jane does not like them and is very judgmental of them. She then goes on to describe John, the reason for her being in the red room. Jane says that he twisted the necks of the pigeons and referred to his mother as old girl this shows how rude John was and that Jane is furious that Mrs Reed called him her own darling and was horrible to Jane. At this point, Jane is frightened but not quite terrified- my blood was still warm, she is feeling more angry and resentful. As time passes, Jane get more and more frightened because it gets darker in the red room daylight began to forsake the red room as Jane is so young, most children that age are afraid of the dark. The wind must also have been frightening for Jane the wind howling in the grove behind the hall, wind makes ghostly noises so this makes the atmosphere frightening. The room is getting colder as well as dark which makes it even more unpleasant for Jane. Jane starts to think about Mr Reed and how if he were still alive he would have treated her kindly, she knows this because it was one of his last wishes, that Mrs Reed would look after Jane as is she was a child of her own. Jane then began to think about Mr Reeds spirit I began to recall what I had heard of dead men, troubled in their graves by the violation of their last wishes, revisiting the earth to punish the perjured and avenge the oppressed; and I thought of Mr Reeds spirit Mr Reeds last wishes had been ignored and Jane thought his spirit might appear to her in that room to help her, while she does not want to see him, and rise before me in this chamber. Because Jane keeps dwelling on ghosts and spirits her mind starts to play tricks on her. She think she hears a preternatural voice Jane must have been really terrified to start hearing things. After looking round the dark room Jane then thinks she sees a light moving across the wall to the ceiling it glided up to the ceiling and quivered over my head Jane was petrified at this stage. Charlotte Bronte describes Janes fear in a lot of detail my heart beat thick, my head grew hot; a sound filled my ears, which I deemed the rushing of wings; something near me I was oppressed, suffocated: endurance broke down. Bessie the servant hears Jane shaking the lock in desperate effort and comes to her. One of the other servants thinks Jane is putting it on that she is scared just to get out of her punishment. Mrs Reed heard the noise Jane was making and did not let her leave the red room Mrs Reed, impatient of my new frantic anguish and wild sobs, abruptly thrust me back and locked me in, without further parley this shows how nasty Mrs Reed is so Jane, as she is aware of how much Jane is suffering and she makes her remain in the red room. At the end of chapter two, Jane becomes unconscious soon after she was gone, I suppose I had a species of fit: unconsciousness closed the scene this shows the intense terror Jane must have been in.

Racism in Football (soccer) Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 2500 words

Racism in Football (soccer) - Essay Example Basically race and football presents itself in several forms. Since the early years of the last century, many fans have used their football matches to express their racial chauvinism though it has been discovered that these were just a minority of the population but causing great trouble. It's very critical how the minority groups could become very dangerous to coaches, players, and fans. Basically the problem could be worse than implied because many respondents perceive not to give bad impressions. This research will study the extent of racial discrimination in football especially at international and professional levels, and the strategies to alleviate this problem. Racism is a big concern in the world of football all over. In essence, racism is not simply aimed at undermining or intimidating football players because of the colour of their skin (Russell 1997). In recent times, coaches, officials and even fans have fallen victims of racial discrimination particularly based on their nationality, ethnic origin and religion. Some people are targeted because they are associated by their opponents rather than the colour of skin and ethnicity (Back & Solomos 1998). There have also been cases where people have been individualized and insulted by their own fans, the most notable incidence was that of John Barnes. Racism is a major problem especially in the European nations and a very critical factor in the cases of hooliganism in football. The real degree to which racism is practiced is virtually difficult to measure since there is no detailed information as evidence or important data and statistical analyses are non existent (Russell 1997). Nonetheless, the activities of disorders in football are particularly on the international level are often referred to as racists or they are perceived to be perpetrated by a groups of racists and currently even some clubs are being considered as being inherently supporters of racism. Types of Racism Racism in football takes a variety of forms and some of them are not clearly seen as discriminatory. However chanting against a team, player, coach, football official or fans has been a common form of racist activity. This was very common especially in the English football in the period around 1970s and 1980s. A crowd of some fans usually made some funny noises at players; in England, fans made monkey noises to intimidate black football players on the field. Some other cases included even more personalized abuse and insults (Back & Solomos 1998). A outstanding case is that of Deptford fire where thirteen black players in their youthful ages were burnt by a mod to death, while chanting insulting songs- ' niggers burning better than petroleum' could be heard even as far as Milwall. There have been anti-Semitic songs targeting for instance the Tottenham Hotspurs fans. Other songs are patriotic and connected to country's national anthems. Due to the increasing number of cases of racist chanting during football matches, a law was enacted in 1991 termed as the football offences act which made these chants during soccer matches an illegal activity but this law is still inadequately effective in its definition of chanting; chanting is defined as 'utterances of any words made repeatedly or making of some sounds in unison with one or a

Advertising promotion Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words

Advertising promotion - Essay Example The business plan for the service is that the target market will hire Darla to perform weekly errands like picking up dry cleaning and grocery shopping, or do one-off errands, such as getting shoes or watches repaired or dropping off library books. The idea is that if Darla performs these tasks, these people will be able to relax and spend more time with friends and family, and enjoy other leisure activities. Issue with the Idea The main issue encountered for implementing this idea was to generate awareness about the service to the target people so that the idea could be implemented properly. Besides this, reaching out to the target customers efficiently was also major issue faced by Darla and her errand service. Solution To tackle this problem proper communication with the target market was essential and to actualise the same Darla had to spend a significant amount of money on advertising. In addition she had to take a call whether she would go for in-house advertising or hire an ag ency to do the job. The target market for â€Å"I’ll Run for You† comprised of a pretty large population in the area and mainly included the people who either led retired or busy lives. The elderly people who were too old for errands, and the professionals who had to travel because of work, had no time to do the errands. Before deciding on the type of advertising that Darla should have considered, it is important to analyse the pro and cons of both an in-house and an advertising agency services. In an in-house agency, the cost is relatively low and with improved technology actions ranging from direct mails to development of website, can be successfully executed by a marketer. Consistency and transparency can also be easily maintained by an in-house agency (Powers, 2012). The biggest benefit of an in-house agency is that it has total control over the provider’s time, quality and activity. Most of the organisations try to maintain the core operation in-house, whic h would differentiate the business (Traxler, 2012). However the in-house agency has a relatively low buying power of media, there are hardly any fresh views, lacks specialised knowledge, and also the stress related to work is more (Smith & Taylor, 2004, p.168). In other words, in-house agencies are less experienced, less flexible and less objective (Belch, Belch & Purani, 2010, p. 102). In case of advertising agency the biggest benefit is the expertise knowledge that the agency brings on board. The agencies work in groups, and so they are likely to pick the most innovative idea and act as per the requirements of the clients. Moreover, as the crucial part of advertising is handled by the agency, a lot of significant time gets saved for the organisation to involve in other related activities (Sharma, 2011). However advertising agency is a costly affair as they usually charge a high price for the variety of services and sometimes the clients end up paying for pretty trivial reasons. Th e money involved is relatively higher as compared to an in-house agency. Besides this less involvement with and understanding of overall marketing goals of the client, and longer response time taken by the external agencies also act as dampening factors of hiring an outside agency. Recommendation Analysing the pros and cons of both in-house and outside advertising agency, it is recommended to â€Å"I’ll Work for you† to hire an outside agency which would help it in generating awareness among the target customers. Although outside advertising agency has many disadvantages, but since the business is new, it will be beneficial

The Many Uses of Computers :: Expository Essays

The Many Uses of Computers Computers are helpful because they offer a wide range of functions and services that are not available anywhere else. There are four main uses: word processing, internet/communications, digital video/audio composition, and desktop publishing. Although one can create a typed paper with a typewriter, the computer has more features to do it with. Internet and communications, digital video and audio composition, and desktop publishing are all features that are only offered on computers. With these tools human society has progressed exponentially. The word processing capabilities of computers are amazing. They can automatically correct your spelling and grammar mistakes. The cutting and pasting features are incredibly simple and very useful for revision. Plus it is easier to read a word-processed document than one written by hand. Having a digital backup is an added benefit. All of these things help writers get the job done. If you want to add pictures to your writing, numerous software titles are available for desktop publishing. With desktop publishing, you can create page layouts for entire books on your home computer. For example, high school yearbook classes now use desktop publishing software for the creation and design of their yearbooks. Most of this cannot be done by hand, and if so, then it is painstakingly laborious. The Internet is one of the greatest inventions of humanity. It is a massive network of computers, each with the ability to access any of the others. Ungodly amounts of information can be found on the Internet. It is the ultimate form of media, a combination of newspaper, radio, and as the average bandwidth is increasing, television. Using the Internet, any two people anywhere can communicate for free, whether it is with text or voice. Video conferencing tools are becoming readily available to the public. New uses are being found for the Internet every day. Audio/video editing and composition have been made much easier by computers. Cutting and pasting is no longer comprised of using scissors and tape on large reels of film. It no longer costs thousands of dollars of equipment to make a film or to compose music. Now emerging musicians have the ability to compose their own songs and publish them without having to obtain a record contract. Amateur filmmakers can produce work from their own homes. Graphics engineers can use computers to create three-dimensional models, or even to generate short or full-length films.

Pills to Make You Smarter Essay

The plague of â€Å"smart pills† is rapidly growing throughout the World. Ritalin, Adderall, and Provigil are taking over college campuses and business offices each day. Why ADHD pills though? The answer is that ADHD medication gets into your brain so that you can maintain focus. These pills are called cognitive-enhancing drugs, which means that they access the brain to enhance. However, you have to have a prescription to get the pills. Many people believe that gives people who have prescriptions an unfair advantage in work on campuses and offices. Why should those people be given the ability to focus and concentrate better? I believe as if it is unfair, also. I would like to be able to take a pill that can help me concentrate. A majority of people think the way I do†¦Ã¢â‚¬ Based on government data gathered in 2007, more than 1. 6 million people in the U. S. had used prescription stimulants non-medically during the previous 12 months. That is absolutely insane and it needs to change. People are using these drugs and some may be using it for â€Å"hallucinations† and to get a â€Å"high† but still, a majority of the people use these drugs for strictly concentration purposes. There are still many things that scientists worry about, though. Addiction is a big one. Users can get addicted to Ritalin and Adderall over time, which really causes major concerns. Another concern is health problems. Ritalin and Adderall are not necessarily good for your health. Over time, they both cause health problems. However, many â€Å"over-the-counter† drugs today, cause health problems over time. Therefore, at the end of the day we have Adderall, Ritalin, Provigil, and Donepezil. The medical use for Adderall and Ritalin are stimulants that are part of treatment of ADHD and narcolepsy. However, also effective as an enhancer that increases cognitive performance on certain tasks under conditions of fatigue, may also improve planning and one type of working memory. The medical use for Provigil is a stimulant for narcolepsy and excessive sleepiness because of shift work or obstructive sleep apnea. However, it also serves as an effective enhancer to augment mental focus and better performance on a limited set of cognitive measures, such as recall of long strings of numbers. The medical use of Donepezil is for treatment for the cognitive deficits of Alzheimer’s disease; increases the neurotransmitter acetylcholine to improve cognition. Effective enhancer as it might aid in learning or memory, but overall results are not certain; ay also take several weeks to work. All of these pills act on DNA in a way that triggers synthesis of proteins that strengthen the signaling connection between the glutamate emitting and receiving neurons. A super â€Å"smart† pill that is made up of the basic ideas in each one of these drugs, is in the making right now. Scientists and Pharmacists are working every day to make this drug, but it is very difficult with all of the downsides that Ritalin, Adderall, Provigil, and Donepezil provide. They are trying to find ways to cut out/reduce most of the downsides. If this drug is created, it will be a major win for the scientific world. It will also affect people in my community. If students are able to take this drug, they will be able to apply themselves towards schoolwork with aid from the drug. If students can concentrate, maintain sleep, and remember things, the sky will be the limit. With the aid from the drug, students will be able to achieve anything that they put their mind to and more.
